Anyone know what hoops I have to jump through to perform a legal marriage in Nevada? I'm being asked to officiate a wedding at Burning Man and evidently I need more than just a signature on a piece of paper as we can do here in California.

Re: Legal in Nevada?
Thu, June 5, 2008 - 11:36 AMYou have a couple of options. I've performed several weddings on playa, and it's a little bit of a hassle. The official word is that you need to go through Pershing County. You need to contact Lacey Peterson at Pershing County (check the pershing website, she's in the clerks' office). She'll have you fill out paperwork, get a letter of good standing from ULC, and have stuff notarized. Your couple has to talk to her as well, and PICK UP THEIR LICENSE IN LOVELOCK. Total hassle.
The second option is to go through Reno and the county there. Similar hassles to get approved, but not too bad, and they can pick up the license there. Technically, they can get the license there and still get married in Pershing. Pershing will tell you otherwise, but it saves you a trip to Lovelock.
Third option is to marry them in a small ceremony in another state, and then do the big show at B-man.
